Match Results for Sunday, July 13th
Written by Terry Fischer
Monday, 14 July 2008

Here are the preliminary match results for Sunday's match as processed by our new stats person...Frank Wolverton. This is probably the earliest they have been done after a large shoot. Good job, Frank. Guess who'll be doing them for now on!

Here's Frank's message to all who shot yesterday:

"Ladies and Gentlemen.

Thank you for coming and having a great match.  As you know, this was my
first attempt at being a Match Director, but I think things went pretty
well (Terry was there to save my butt a couple of times as well - Thanks
Terry).  Thank you to all the people who came this morning to help
finish with the set-up.  We would NOT have had as good of a match as we
did without your help.  Thank you also to the RO's who ran their
squads.  You keep us all safe so we can continue to enjoy this sport.

Attached are the preliminary results for the July 13th match at the
Milan Rifle Club.

Please take a CLOSE look and make sure all of your information is good.
I had a hard time reading a some of your information.  Please make sure
that your names are spelled right and I have the correct USPSA number
for you (again... hard to read some).  Also... if you are a USPSA member
and there is no number listed, I need your number or you won't get
credit for the classifier.

Double-check the classes as well.  What is listed is what was off the
USPSA database that was ran yesterday.  If you think what is listed is
wrong.

Just an FYI... there is no major power factor in production.  Minor only.

There were two shooters who did not have a power factor listed on their
sheet, and therefore were listed as minor.

There were a couple of shooters who circled more than one division (such
as open AND limited).  The more "high speed" one was chosen.

Same goes for the shooters who did not list a division at all.

There was also one person who had NOTHING written in a stage (the steel
one), but he initialed it, so guess what... :(

See y'all next month, and I hope you enjoyed the show :)

Frank

UPCOMING MATCHES:

July 31-Aug 3 - USPSA Area 3 Pistol Championships, Omaha NE
Aug 3 - Steel Challenge match at Milan Rifle Club, Milan, IL (200+
rounds - 8 stages)
Aug 24 - USPSA monthly club match at Milan Rifle Club, Milan, IL
Aug 30-31 - USPSA Illinois Sectional Championships, Havana, IL
Sept 5-13 - USPSA Back to Back Nationals (Rev/Pro/Limited and Open/L10)
September 13-14 - Milan Special 2-day match - 10 Stages - Shoot Saturday "

Here's some additional information regarding last month's Level 1 Special Classifier Match. The match was uploaded on July 1st and a postal money order for $370.50 was sent the same day as I always do. However, this time the money order did not arrive at USPSA headquarters by the deadline which was the 10th for classification processing. This is the first time this has happened and I'm very unhappy about it. I need to submit a lost or stolen claim for that money order and have a new one re-issued. But everyone knows how the post office works. It takes time...at least 30 days. Regardless, this match and June's will be uploaded and paid for in time for USPSA to process everything by August 10th. I will keep everyone informed when I know something about this situation. From now on, I will upload and pay for the classifiers via credit card using USPSA's secure payment page. No more using the post office for things like this. I'm really POed about it!

Lastly, a BIG THANKS for all who helped this weekend. As some of you know, I'm probably going to have my knee replacement surgery in the near future. So, we need everyone to jump in where they can. It worked pretty well having the stages roughed out Sat. to be finished on Sunday morning. That may be the way we'll work it in the future. Any opinions about this let me know!
The mini pins were a big hit. I'm still processing that.  Results will be later today or tomorrow.
More to come in the next couple of days.
Best regards,

Milan IPSC Match this Sunday, July 13th
Written by Terry Fischer
Wednesday, 09 July 2008
Our monthly IPSC match is this Sunday, July 13th. Our regular match day was moved because of a state rifle match. Frank Wolverton will be match director for this shoot. I will be there as always. There will be six stages with a minimum round count of 96. Be sure to bring enough for re-shoots, range malfunctions, etc. Match fee is $10.00 with re-shoots same gun/division...$2.00. If you choose to shoot a second division it will be another full match fee.  Sign in opens about 8:30 if we are ready. I'd like to have a brief shooter's meeting as soon as the rush of sign ins are over. We can cover some things to help you understand the match and make things run more smoothly. So please stick around the sign in area. The classifier will be CM 06-06, " Golden Bullet Standards".
Set up will be Sat. at noon. There's a DCM rifle match in the morning so we can't go back to the ranges until it's done. With all that's going on, Frank and I could use some help. Those that do come out will be compensated on match day. E-mail me or call my cell (235-0694) if you can come out and lend a hand.
We'll try the mini pins again with some revisions as suggested by Ty, who was the RO last time. He has more experience with running them  so I took his suggestions. Here are the changes from last time.
The classes will be:
Auto Pistol
Auto Pistol, Optics
Revolver (both optics and iron)
Auto Rifle
Auto Rifle, Optics
Rifle Lever, Pump, or Bolt Action
There will be 4 runs per entry. The best 3 times will be combined for your total time. The slowest will be crossed out but used for a tie breaker if need be.  Entry fee is the same, $5.00 with unlimited entry as time allows. There must be at least 3 in the same class for pay out. Payout will be the same as before. Each class will be split 50%. Half going to the IPSC steel fund, the other half divided between the 1st to 3rd place (lowest total time) at 50-30-20%. You can only finish in one place per class. For example, if you took the top two times in auto optics, you can only win the top score. Second would go to another shooter. Pay at the pin location as I will have a cash box there for entries. We'll get this side match going as soon as we possibly can. Ty said some were not able to shoot last time. We want everyone to be able to shoot if they want.
Bring your shotguns and a box of shells. If possible I may set up a shotgun match BUT with everything else going on, this will be my lowest priority.
Anyone who has signed up for membership to the USPSA since April or will be signing up in the near future. Put my name and USPSA number(A2589) down a referring you for membership. USPSA is running a membership drive and giving a gun away each quarter this year to a referring member's name. If I happen to be drawn, my idea is to offer that as a drawing prize sometime in the near future to USPSA members only. This may provide incentive to join. I'll work out the details if the club wins a gun.
In addition, MGM Targets is running a promotion that will give a $100.00 credit($150.00 for each Junior) towards steel targets for any new USPSA member after membership number 61,960. Here's an excerpt from their website:
61,960 was the last membership number issued by the USPSA as of April 30, 2008. If your “new shooter’s” membership number is after that, you are eligible for the $100. To get the certificate, please send a copy of the new shooters membership card to us AFTER they are classified in at least one category. Any classification other than a “U”, in any division, is acceptable. We have this provision so nobody signs up their dog, their cat, or their goldfish, to get the hundred bucks. The new shooter has to actually shoot enough to get a classification.
Any new USPSA member who has a number higher than the one stated above and receives a classification, get the information to me and I will send it in for credit to the club for money off new steel targets. Lord knows we need them. Of course this is entirely up to the individual. For more information go to: http://www.mgmtargets.com/news/index.php#uspsa
Lastly, there will be a Steel Challenge Match at Milan on Aug. 3rd. This date has been approved. This is a separate match from our IPSC shoot which is Aug 24th.  A short preview, it is 200 rounds minimum and 8 stages. You really should give this a try. More details will be announced soon.
There's a lot going on everyone. No excuses not to shoot. Hope to see you Sunday.

Written by Terry Fischer
Thursday, 03 July 2008

Just a heads up that I'm planning a Steel Challenge match on August 3rd, at the Milan Rifle Club. I need BOD approval for the date but don't anticipate a problem. There will be 8 stages with a MINIMUM round count of 200. Yes, 200. Better bring 300 just in case.

As of this time, were are considering an entry fee of $20.00 per center fire division with a .22 rim fire division and a fee of $10.00 Trophy plaques for first place in division.

This is all tentative and more details to follow in the near future.

Contact me if you have questions.

 Terry Fischer

Here are some additional details:

The divisions are:

open
limited
stock revo
open revo
.22 stock
.22 optic
SA revolver
More info will be out soon.
