Our monthly IPSC match is this Sunday, July 13th. Our regular match day was moved because of a state rifle match. Frank Wolverton will be match director for this shoot. I will be there as always. There will be six stages with a minimum round count of 96. Be sure to bring enough for re-shoots, range malfunctions, etc. Match fee is $10.00 with re-shoots same gun/division...$2.00. If you choose to shoot a second division it will be another full match fee. Sign in opens about 8:30 if we are ready. I'd like to have a brief shooter's meeting as soon as the rush of sign ins are over. We can cover some things to help you understand the match and make things run more smoothly. So please stick around the sign in area. The classifier will be CM 06-06, " Golden Bullet Standards". Set up will be Sat. at noon. There's a DCM rifle match in the morning so we can't go back to the ranges until it's done. With all that's going on, Frank and I could use some help. Those that do come out will be compensated on match day. E-mail me or call my cell (235-0694) if you can come out and lend a hand. We'll try the mini pins again with some revisions as suggested by Ty, who was the RO last time. He has more experience with running them so I took his suggestions. Here are the changes from last time. The classes will be: Auto Pistol Auto Pistol, Optics Revolver (both optics and iron) Auto Rifle Auto Rifle, Optics Rifle Lever, Pump, or Bolt Action
There will be 4 runs per entry. The best 3 times will be combined for your total time. The slowest will be crossed out but used for a tie breaker if need be. Entry fee is the same, $5.00 with unlimited entry as time allows. There must be at least 3 in the same class for pay out. Payout will be the same as before. Each class will be split 50%. Half going to the IPSC steel fund, the other half divided between the 1st to 3rd place (lowest total time) at 50-30-20%. You can only finish in one place per class. For example, if you took the top two times in auto optics, you can only win the top score. Second would go to another shooter. Pay at the pin location as I will have a cash box there for entries. We'll get this side match going as soon as we possibly can. Ty said some were not able to shoot last time. We want everyone to be able to shoot if they want. Bring your shotguns and a box of shells. If possible I may set up a shotgun match BUT with everything else going on, this will be my lowest priority. Anyone who has signed up for membership to the USPSA since April or will be signing up in the near future. Put my name and USPSA number(A2589) down a referring you for membership. USPSA is running a membership drive and giving a gun away each quarter this year to a referring member's name. If I happen to be drawn, my idea is to offer that as a drawing prize sometime in the near future to USPSA members only. This may provide incentive to join. I'll work out the details if the club wins a gun. In addition, MGM Targets is running a promotion that will give a $100.00 credit($150.00 for each Junior) towards steel targets for any new USPSA member after membership number 61,960. Here's an excerpt from their website: 61,960 was the last membership number issued by the USPSA as of April 30, 2008. If your “new shooter’s” membership number is after that, you are eligible for the $100. To get the certificate, please send a copy of the new shooters membership card to us AFTER they are classified in at least one category. Any classification other than a “U”, in any division, is acceptable. We have this provision so nobody signs up their dog, their cat, or their goldfish, to get the hundred bucks. The new shooter has to actually shoot enough to get a classification. Any new USPSA member who has a number higher than the one stated above and receives a classification, get the information to me and I will send it in for credit to the club for money off new steel targets. Lord knows we need them. Of course this is entirely up to the individual. For more information go to: http://www.mgmtargets.com/news/index.php#uspsa Lastly, there will be a Steel Challenge Match at Milan on Aug. 3rd. This date has been approved. This is a separate match from our IPSC shoot which is Aug 24th. A short preview, it is 200 rounds minimum and 8 stages. You really should give this a try. More details will be announced soon. There's a lot going on everyone. No excuses not to shoot. Hope to see you Sunday. Terry Fischer Milan Rifle Club IPSC/USPSA Chairman
