Upcoming Match - August 24th 2008

Good day ladies and gentlemen... Our next match at the Milan Rifle Club is on August 24th. The classifier is CM 99-36 (After Work Blues). Round count for the match is 107, but as always... bring more. Stages are posted in the forums. Cost is $10 per division. Cost to reshoot classifier only is $2 Cost to reshoot entire COF (same gun/division) is $5 There will be a shotgun side match this month. Classes are Open pump, Open auto, Limited pump, and Limited auto. Limited mean is no optics, no ports or comps, or tube speed loaders, and max 9 rounds total in gun. everything else is open. Cost for the Shotgun Match are $5 for the first run, and $2 reshoots. The prized for the classes are as follows (percentage of the division entry fees (not including reshoots): 3-5 shooters in Division 1st = 50% 6-8 shooters in Division 1st = 30% 2nd = 20% 9 or more shooters in Division 1st = 25% 2nd = 15% 3rd = 10% You may win only once per division. You will be allowed to shoot limited shotguns in open class, but not the other way around. Reshoot money will be added to the prize pool, but reshooters will not be counted as shooters for prizes (i.e. 5 shooters, one of which reshoots so there is a total of 6 scores in the division. Prizes paid on the 3-5 table, but prize pool for division is $27). Your best score (whether first run or reshoot) will be used for prizes, so shoot as much as you want. Set-up will be on the 23rd starting at noon. First 3 people to volunteer via e-mail or phone get to shoot the pistol match on the 24th for free. Volunteer to RO and you get the following: half off first entry fee, and free sodas/bottled water for the match. (First 5 volunteers) See you there... Frank

Steel Challenge Results

Greetings, It took a couple of days to correct some spelling errors and make sure of everyone's place of finish but I believe now all has been corrected. A big thanks to Doug Carden and Tom Bair for bringing the targets and handling the setup. Also, thanks to Tom for taking care of scoring. He did have some trouble reading some of the names on the sign in sheet, that's why some were initially not correct. Something I'm familiar with. Doug never intended to be counted in the results for awards. He was interested in exposing the shooters to the Steel Challenge format. Also, we wanted to see if there is enough interest to have it again on a regular(but not monthly) basis. I believe that it proved popular and we'll look into getting out own targets. That way Doug doesn't have to lug everything down to Milan each time. If promoted enough, I think the targets would pay for themselves in short order. That's the plan for next year. Looking over the results, I think there were enough shooters in the categories we had, to offer to pay down two places. The way I read it is: Auto/Centerfire/Open, Keith Boysen 1st, Jim Thompson 2nd Auto/Rimfire/Optic, Jim Bartels 1st, Ryan Gebhardt 2nd Auto/Centerfire/Iron, Chris Martin 1st, Rod Jacobs 2nd Rev./Centerfire/Iron Jim Bartels 1st, Darren Garrety 2nd If anyone sees something different, let me know as it is possible I missed something. The weather delayed us somewhat.
